I've invited a group of people to discuss Indigenous People's rights in America and US Government preference for the oil industry in claiming energy security priority over water security, food security, and human security. In a remarkably quick turnaround - three FIU groups came together to make this happen

Public Talk: Standing Rock in Miami 5 November

Where: Luna Star Cafe, 775 NE 125th Street, North Miami, FL When: 3pm, Saturday, 5 November, 2016 Cost: $10 donation at door What: On November 5th, 2016 at 3pm, Dr. Jennifer Veilleux will give a public lecture on the Water Protector's Stand against the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) at Standing Rock, North Dakota. She will share the recent findings from her research team on the water security of the Missouri River Basin and how people and ecosystems are at risk from DAPL because of lax governmental regulations under the Clean Water Act. Live music and fundraiser for the International Indigenous Youth Council to follow.
